Regenerative Medicine for Skin Conditions

Of all the physical changes that occur with age, none is more apparent than changes in the skin. Wrinkles, lines,  jowls, and other skin conditions  stare back at you every time you look in the mirror. Fortunately there are several ways to slow down the aging of the skin and improve skin conditions. Cosmetic surgeons, who have been transferring patients own fat from one part of the body to another for years, noticed that this did more than plump up and fill out treated areas. It also improved skin quality, texture, thickness, and smoothness–and benefits lasted. Now we know that this may be due to the the high concentration of stem cells that reside in fat.

Stem Cell Research and Skin Conditions

At the Newport Beach Stem Cell Treatment Center, we offer a regenerative medicine procedure that involves isolating the patient’s stem cells from his or her fat, which is obtained during  a minimal liposuction procedure. These concentrated cells are then injected back into affected areas of the patient’s skin and infused intravenously. This all takes place during a single three-hour outpatient process, performed by our board-certified cosmetic surgeon and experienced medical team.

At the Newport Beach Stem Cell Treatment Center, we are committed to quality care for our patients with a variety of skin  conditions. We are also involved in clinical stem cell research and the advancement of regenerative medicine and are part of the only Investigational Review Board (IRB)-based stem cell treatment network in the United States that utilizes fat-transfer surgical technology. We have an array of ongoing IRB-approved protocols, and we provide care for patients with a wide variety of disorders that may be treated with adult stem cell-based regenerative therapy. Not all skin conditions respond well to stem cell therapy, and each patient must be assessed individually to determine the potential for optimal results from this regenerative medicine process.
