Regenerative Medicine for Cognitive Impairment

Conventional wisdom would have you believe that  memory loss and cognitive impairment are a normal part of aging. It’s true that most people do experience some age-related decline in these areas, but serious cognitive impairment that interferes with quality of life and activities of daily living is by no means normal. Rather, it’s caused by degenerative processes in the brain–processes that can in some cases be prevented, retarded, and even reversed.

Stem Cell Research and Cognitive Impairment

The Newport Beach Stem Cell Treatment Center’s regenerative medicine approach to cognitive impairment involves harnessing the beneficial properties of adult stem cells. The’s  patient’s own stem cells are isolated from adipose (fat) tissue, which is removed by liposuction, usually from the abdominal area, by our board-certified surgeon. These cells are then concentrated and intravenously infused back into the patient. This outpatient procedure, performed in our fully accredited surgical center, takes approximately three hours.

At the Newport Beach Stem Cell Treatment Center, we are committed not only to quality care for our patients with cognitive impairment but also to clinical stem cell research and the advancement of regenerative medicine. We are proud to be part of the only Investigational Review Board (IRB)-based stem cell treatment network in the United States that utilizes fat-transfer surgical technology. We have an array of ongoing IRB-approved protocols, and we provide care for patients with a wide variety of disorders that may be treated with adult stem cell-based regenerative therapy. Not all patients with cognitive impairment respond to stem cell therapy, and each patient must be assessed individually to determine the potential for optimal results from this regenerative medicine process.Virtual Consultation
